4/29/14: Day 58: More Frustration

We woke up at 5:50 to eat breakfast and do our homework for the team meeting. We arrived at Hector’s house at 7:30 for the meeting. He didn’t ask for any of the home work. We mostly just discussed all the coming teams, when Hector and his family are going to be gone, and how we are going to deal with it. We finished at 8:30 and we all drove back to Ataco. Hector’s family followed us in their van to Ataco to do some quick errands. When they finished they picked Della and I up to go to Santa Ana for the immigration office. We arrived at the office at 10:30 and no one was in line ahead of us. Hector decided to go first so Della and I got our turn at 1:00 ish. The officer argued with us on several papers and finally told us that we needed to not submit our marriage certificate but the translation header stated that it was included in the package. So the officer told us we will have to go back to San Salvador tomorrow and get them to reprint the header page with one line omitted. So to remove one line on a piece of paper we will have to spend another seven hours on the road and who knows how many hours waiting in lines again. In addition to this the officer told us that our translator did a very poor job because she failed to translate the seals. She said that the papers will most likely be rejected at the reviewer’s office but she would allow us to submit them all so that the expiration will not be a problem.   We got home at 4:00 and I am very frustrated. Tomorrow I will have to go to San Salvador for the 5th time in 10 days.

Della cooked biscuits with bacon and gravy
