4/2/14: Day 31: News on Immigration

Della was sick today so she stayed home and rested all day. I pray that she will be better tomorrow for her birthday. Lucky and I left at 7:00 AM for Hector’s to have our team meeting. We got on the same bus that Carlos and Linda were on from Ahuachapán. The meeting lasted until 9:00 and we planned all the activities for the rest of the week. After the meeting we went to Ahuachapán to take the mother of a lady who had a baby yesterday to the hospital to visit her. Then we went to the bank to wire the money for the van repairs to Sonsonate. Then Lucky went to Ban Ban to get cakes for Della while Hector and I went to try to get better internet. The internet store was out of power along with half of Ahuachapán so I ran to meet up with Lucky. We got two cakes because Lucky wanted to invite a bunch of people for the party. We met up with Hector and found a paint store that sold the brand we wanted so we called the store we ordered from three weeks ago and they said the person we needed to talk to was not there. We decided that they had their chance, so we bought all the paint from the new store. Then Lucky and I waited in the van while Hector went to the bank. While we were waiting I went to Ban Ban and got lunch for Lucky and I. When Hector got back I told him I bought him a sandwich but I got tired of waiting and ate it (joke). Then we went to furniture store next to the grocery store and checked the fans. I didn’t like the price so we went to the groceries to get food for the week / party. After we bought all our food I got the keys from Hector and put all the food in the van. Then Lucky and I went to another furniture store and they had the same fan for the same price so I asked if they would go down some. They said no so we went back to the first store and bought it. As we walked we saw Hector putting his groceries in the van so we snuck up behind him and when he called my phone the ring came from right behind him. I thought it was going to be funnier than it was… Then we went and waited on the lady who had the baby to take her back to her house but we gave up after waiting 1.5 hours with all our food growing hot. We got home about 1:40. At 2:00 Carlos arrived and Lucky and I went with him to do evangelism in Ataco. We made the rounds studying and praying with four people. We finished at 3:30 for Lucky to go to the ladies’ class that will now be every Wednesday. Wednesday night services started 5:30 that lasted until 6:40. When we got home we all prepared our lessons that we will be teaching for the rest of the week.

P.S. We found out today that going to Guatemala will NOT satisfy the requirement to reset for another 90 day visit. This is because El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua have an alliance that allows citizens to move freely between which is nice but causes a challenge for us. We are hoping that we can get a one-time 90 day extension while the paperwork for the visas is processed.

P.S.S. The neighbors had a swarm of honey bees move on their roof last week. Today some people came and got most of them but several (10 ish) of the remaining have wondered into our house and the dog is playing with them.
