Woke
up at 5:30 and studied the maps to get to the mall in San Salvador. Hector
called at 6:15 and said I had to have the letter written for the visa request
ready now. I wrote it up in English and Della and Lucky translated it. Every
time I printed, Della or Lucky found something to correct and I had to reprint four
times. We left a bit late and Lucky
asked if she could ride with Tomás. We were almost to Sonsonate when Hector
called again and said that everything that we needed was still closed for Easter.
All the retail stores are open but the Government always gets an extra holiday.
I immediately tried to call Samuel but I couldn’t reach him. I called Osvaldo
and he said Samuel had already gotten on the bus. Then Della managed to get Tomás
to pull over. We said our good byes to Tomás and parted ways. We decided to go
to Ahuachapán to get groceries and flea medication. We got back home at 10:30 and I worked on a
lesson on Deborah and rested a bit. I
managed to get in touch with Samuel and I told him I was sorry for standing him
up and he kept saying it is O.K., that he really wants to help us. We are now
planning to go to San Salvador tomorrow to make these connections and get our
paper work completed. It feels like we have a lot left to do and there is a
real danger that we may not be able to get it all done.
Please pray that God will work wonders for getting the paperwork completed
tomorrow.
We had more people than ever at the small group tonight, more than twenty adults.
The lesson went well and seemed well received. Some of the people who came were
not Christians, people that we have been working with. We are excited and
encouraged about this!
