6/14/14: Day 104: Hopping

Woke up with the rain pouring again. We were planning to go follow up with some more of the contacts made from the Spring Meadows with some of the teens. Thankfully the rain slacked off at 8:00 and Clifton and I went to Shucutitan to get them. There we saw Carlos, his dad, and Hector as they were headed off for the construction effort. I called Samuel and wished him happy 20th birthday and invited him to watch the new X-Men with us this afternoon but he said he had obligations. Yaritza, Natalia, Catherine, and her brother came to Ataco with us. We walked from the house to our first study. The first was a lady who owned a shop and had some rabbits for sale. We studied with many people and it was much more productive than when it was just me and Clifton. Several people said they wanted to visit the church. About lunch time we went back to buy the rabbit and then went home. At 11:15, Della and I took the teens back home and then we came back and ate lunch. Clifton and I left for San Salvador at 1:00. We were trying to find a different mall that I didn’t know how to get to and the movie started at 3:00. We got turned around and called Samuel. He said he could meet us and show us how to get there, bless his heart, but we told him we didn’t have time for that. We managed to find the place just in time using Clifton’s phone but then it took another 10 minutes to find a parking spot. There were 300+ people camped out in the middle of the mall watching the World Cup on a big screen. We managed to get to the theater at 3:05 and watched 25 minutes of soccer ads. After the movie we walked around the mall and found a Lego store! Then we went to the San Salvador mall and ate KFC. We tried to walk around a bit but all the stores started closing at 6:30 so we ended up sitting in the food court for a while. We decided to watch Maleficent at 9:00 even though we heard it was a low quality movie. The movie was O.K. and ended at 11:30. Clifton and I felt our way back because they had turned all the lights in the mall off. We hung out in the car which was in a well-lit spot in the parking garage until they kicked us out at 12:00. So we started driving slowly to kill time on our way to the airport. Della’s friends (Fred and Jaci) arrived at 2:00 AM. The drive back home felt long but we made it home by 4:00 AM. I managed to get 2 hours of sleep; I don’t feel so great.
