In the meeting we learned that there is, potentially, a medical mission coming
here on the 18th. We are planning to go work with them on Thursday
in Ciudad Real. I was also tasked with making a stencil with the church logo to
paint on the new houses. I was also told that I need to be working every day to
follow up with the contacts that were made when Spring Meadows was here. When I
got home I made a short lesson about the “I am” statements of Jesus and got
Della to translate it. After lunch, Clifton and I went out to do our best with
our limited Spanish. We followed up with 22 contacts in 2 hours and 19 of which
said we could come back later and study some more! Despite our low level
Spanish we managed to read through and nearly memorize the verses including the
introduction and conclusion. It was about to rain so we went back to the house
and rode down to Ahuachapán to meet with Wendy. She gave Clifton a haircut
while Della visited with Wendy’s daughter Tanya. Tanya is taking intense
English classes. She showed us some of her exams and they looked difficult to
me and I am a native English speaker! After the haircut, Wendy served us hot
chocolate and cooked plantains stuffed with congealed milk. They were incredibly dense, but I managed to
eat three of them. Then we came home and Clifton and I worked on our lessons
that we will be giving later this week.
P.S. We are also on our own because we learned today that Lucky will not make it back from the States until early August
