5/9/14: Day 68: First Español Class

Class started at 7:30 AM. Della and Lucky dropped me off and they went shopping. Two English students were finishing their tests when I walked in. I learned several new words but it seemed unorganized. I think it is because the teacher is having a difficult time gauging what I know. I know a fair number of random words but I don’t have a good foundation. I am the only Spanish student so this class will help me practice in a learning environment. Class lasted two hours and then I waited another hour for Della and Lucky to finish shopping. The teacher met Della and Lucky and then we went home. As we were opening the door I said “I wonder what surprise Lobito (our dog) has waiting for us”. We had left it chained in the garage. As the door opened, we saw that it wasn’t there. The dog had managed to bust down the door to the laundry room and knock over the plants getting dirt everywhere! I spent a while cleaning it up and Della said we could start looking for a new home for it!! Della says “I like only grown greyhounds and Lobito is not”. We left to have lunch with Tonita’s family at 11:50. As we were leaving Ataco we saw Tonita walking in to get food. We gave her a ride to the market and then we all went together to her house in Shucutitan. We ate pupusas for lunch and it rained. I think I was the butt of several, lack of Spanish jokes, for the lunch conversation. We got back home at 1:30. I worked on the Sunday teen lesson while the girls rested for the afternoon.  Della said she needed to continue resting so Lucky and I went without her to teen time. We had an activity where they had to work as a team to flip a tarp over while standing on it and rescue some plastic animals. This was to go along with the rescue mission that David was on in 1 Samuel 30. Marixa served pupusas for us and some of the teens after class. When we got home I realized that I had locked Della in the house. If there is ever a fire here we will surly die due to not being able to get the keys to open the door. Bryan arrived shortly after us. We told Bryan that I would like for him to help me teach a computer programming class in Ataco so we spent the evening discussing it. I think it might work but it is going to require a lot of effort and patience.
