5/5/14: Day 64: 100% Girl

We found out last night that there is a meeting today at 9:00 with Noé , Osvaldo, and Hector to discuss Central’s plans. So I woke up at 5:30 to get the lesson done for tonight. The lesson was focused on the life of Samuel and how he listened and obeyed. At 8:30 the girls were still not ready. I knocked on Lucky’s door and she said “I thought it was for 9:00 at night”. We managed to get to the meeting in Ahuachapán by 9:05. The plans changed a bit. Apparently they were only able to secure two locations in Turín and two locations in Ahuachapán. So they need to have two VBS lessons because they will be spending two days in each of the locations. I am in charge of transportation for the construction group with my minivan. I plan to join up with the evangelism group after dropping them off each day. We had to leave the meeting before it ended to make it to the doctor in time. We got to Ataco at 11:15 and ate lunch. We left at 12:10 to go to Sonsonate for the doctor. There were several people in line when we got there so Lucky and I decided to go to the insurance company to get my money back. My life insurance policy was declined AFTER they made me go to San Salvador and see three doctors in one day due to not having permanent residence. The frustrating thing is; they knew I didn’t have permanent residence. They were so unorganized that they didn’t know that they had a problem.  We found that the insurance people were not in the office, apparently on an extended lunch break. Della called and said she was about to see the doctor so Lucky and I rushed back. We arrived just as she was entering being seen. The doctor was as pleasant as always. Della had several questions for her and she answered them all favorably. We are truly blessed to have a good doctor for Della here. The doctor confirmed that our baby is a girl! She said that she was 100% sure! Then we all went back to the insurance company and they gave me a check… I had given them cash. We asked and apparently I have to have my passport to cash it. Then we went to the grocery store to get some fruit juice that the doctor recommended. After that we had to go to three different pharmacies to find all of Della’s prescriptions. Then we went back to Apaneca to get plants for the coffee mugs that the teens decorated on Sunday for their moms. On the way I made my first double pass! That’s two cars I passed as if they were one as I was going up the mountain. We couldn’t find the plant place so we stopped to ask some guy on the street. He said he would be glad to show us if we would give him a ride. He had an axe but we gave him a ride anyway. It turns out that we would have never found it without his help. The plant place was cool and they had a scaredy cat dog. After getting the plants we were all hungry & stopped to get some icecream. We finished eating in time to get to Shucutitan for the small group study. I taught and Lucky translated. We had it in a different house than usual and there were about 30 people there. We gave Carlos and his family a ride back to Ataco.

We are all tired and excited that God has blessed us with a girl.
Tomorrow we have a meeting with Hector at 7:30 AM.
