Morning service went mostly as usual. When it was time for announcements Carlos
told the church that little Charlotte is scheduled to arrive Friday at 3:00 PM!
Then the teens came to the house for class and Paolo taught. He did a great job
and used a crisp twenty as an illustration. He asked if anyone wanted it all
crisp and then he crushed it and threw it on the floor and stomped on it. Then
he asked if they still wanted it and his point was that no matter what we have
been through we still have value to God. Even though the Israelites turned to
idols, God still wanted them to come back. After lunch, around 1:30, Sarita
came over to get Lucky to help her with homework. She had to translate a
paragraph that was about the longest river in El Salvador and Lucky made me
help. There was no afternoon service today due to lantern festival today. Lucky and I went out to watch the setup around
4:00 and Lucky bought a strange fruit that neither of us had ever seen or heard
of before. Then Della, Lucky and I all went out together to see it all lit up
at 7:00. The town was packed; maybe the most crowded I have seen it. Almost
every home was opened trying to sell something out their front door. It was a
full moon tonight and we hoped that between that and the walking little
Charlotte might flip… But, no luck. I bought Charlotte some spider earrings but
when I got home I looked at them more closely and discovered that they only had
six legs. So I guess I bought Charlotte some poor mutilated spider earrings. I
greatly enjoyed walking around seeing all the festivities.
