7/2/14: Day 122: ESL Presentations

Clifton was told last night, in Spanish, to meet at the same place and time today. We got there and waited and finally got a call saying they were at house number 3.Then I went up and got Austin and we did a dry run of the ESL presentation. At 11:30 we got the food for the presentation and then went to the church to eat our lunch. I was happy that we managed to catch grilled chicken day. Our first presentation was in Shucutitan. There were 8 teachers + the director in attendance. They listened attentively and had a few questions. Their main concerns were transportation and schedule. So we hammered out a schedule and then we went to the worksite to run it by the rest of the team. Classes will begin on July 21st just after Central leaves. Then Austin treated us to ice cream and we went back to the house to print the schedule. Our second presentation was in Ataco at the school where Della teaches. It supposed to start at 4:30 but they made us wait till 5:15 for their current meeting to end. There were 20 teachers + the director in attendance. The presentation went very well and we are expecting a big response, it was reassuring and exciting. We ended up missing church because of the presentation so we just went home to rest.

Several people here get free shirts from the U.S. and they have no idea what they say. Clifton said a guy last night in the church was wearing a shirt that read “I do all my own nude shots”. Heh!

Austin was super excited about this purchase

Amazing Beetle Taking Off!

  1. That is a great shot of the beetle. The Spanish get American t-shirts they don't understand, the Americans get Chinese tshirts/tattoos they don't understand... but it's "cool"! ;x
