7/20/14: Day 140: No Seafood

Hector called Della and me up front during service to explain to the congregation that I was not going to be leading the teens and small group studies for the next several months to focus on Spanish. The church commended us for “making it” over the past five months and said that they all understood. Then Hector interpreted for me to say a few words. When church let out we went out for lunch, the last meal that we should have to eat out for a while. Della got soup at the Coffee House and then I walked down to the town center to get some street food. I ordered camarĂ³n (shrimp) but I wanted chicharrĂ³n (pork). The words sounded similar so I mixed them up. When I got my food I realized my mistake but I made the bad decision to eat it anyway. At 3:00 we went to a remembrance gathering for Maria and I felt rather queasy. By the time it was over I was nauseous. We went to the gas station and I spent some time in the grass out back. Della drove to the resort while I tried to hold it all in. When we got there I tried to sit with Della while she ate but I had to go back to the hotel room and I did not come out again for the rest of the night.
