Today I saw God at work. The houses were completed so most of the group spent
the morning site seeing. Yesterday, during the presentation of the ESL program
in Ataco, they invited us to present on their college day. We had no idea what
to expect from this meeting but we knew we had to go. Schools and Colleges from
all over the area & us - the church of Christ in Ataco were there! There
had been a few schools that we had not been able to get into but they were all
represented here! Austin gave a 2 minute speech to all 300 students at once.
Then they presented a participation certificates to each group including us.
After all the colleges had their 2 minutes they divided into 8 groups and made
rounds. Our presentation was 30 minutes and Austin presented it a total of 8
times! We believe there will be a tremendous response in attendance form this. The
fumigation people were pumping poison into the school for the entire meeting. Della
and I broke off at 11:00 to get the meals from the market and present in
another school. Della made the presentation for 6 more teachers to a school
near Ataco. We met back up with Austin and he took us all out to a nice
restaurant to celebrate God’s work. We got home from lunch at 3:00 and rested a
bit. Then I went to Apaneca to get four of the Signal Mountain teens to join us
for teen time. The original plan was for Hector to bring them but he decided
not to at the last minute. In my rush to get out the house I forgot a bunch of
stuff and Della didn’t have time to get ready so I went back to get her. At
teen time we played Pictionary with the seasons from Ecclesiastes. I tried to
call to find out what was happening next but got no answer so I went back to
Apaneca to see if the rest of the group was there. Finally, we got a hold of
Hector and he told us where they were eating tonight. All the teens said they
were tired and wanted to stay so Della, Austin, Clifton and I went without
them. At dinner Carlos presented a framed picture as a going away gift. We got
home at 9:00.
