3/7/14: Day 5: Papers

Woke up at 6:00 and ate cereal for breakfast. Then Rachael called and told us we would have trouble starting the car. After playing with it for about five minutes I got it to crank and we got to Hector’s house at 7:30. We then started off for San Salvador. We got gas and then stopped at a hardware store which was just as big as Home Depot. I bought wire and a plug for hooking up the washer and some pliers and Della bought a shower caddy and a trashcan for the bathroom with a lid. Hector also bought a swimming pool to be the baptistery. On the way to our next stop we were driving up a hill when the car sputtered out and died. We pulled over to the side of the road and prayed and it started back up, and didn’t give us anymore trouble. We traveled on and arrived at the Nissan dealer where Hector test drove a new 15 passenger van. We waited and waited for them to get all the paper work needed to do a credit check and get through their sells pitch. After that we went to the mall to park and walked across the street to the translator. After waiting for a while more, the translator gave Hector his documents and we gave them ours. Then we walked back to the mall to have lunch at 1:00. On the way to lunch we stopped at a furniture store where I found a wardrobe that was a good price so I bought two of them.  After lunch we went to a store to buy some cardstock paper Lucky needed for teaching a class on prayer and then we went to the Cinnabon store for Hector to get a treat for his kids. Then we went to the Claro store in the mall to see about getting internet setup at the house. It was like they wanted to play a guessing game with me telling me them how fast I wanted and then they would say if they had it or not. Turns out the fastest speed I can get is 5 Mb down bundled with T.V. and phone. The next option which is the one that was in our budget is 3 Mb down. Then we walked back across the street to the translator for I don’t know what. Then we walked a few blocks over to get to the lawyer. He said some spellings were not correct so we had to walk back to the translator for a third time today at 3:00 PM. We then went back to the mall and Della nearly got run over while crossing the street, I decided not to watch. Then we drove over to a house where Hector got a large sign for the church. It was so big that it took up the entire back seat which I was sitting in and completely blocked my view of everything.  After picking up the sign we drove to the Toyota dealership where they showed us more 15 passenger vans. We spent about an hour there, she said “give me the money and I will start the paper work”… I told Hector that he should sleep on it. Then we drove to the mall in San Anna and got dinner. Della tried to help me order and somehow ended up ordering double so I gave Hector the extra sandwich. Then Hector bought us ice-cream and we headed down stairs to the grocery store where I bought peanut butter. We then left for home and arrived back here at 9:15 PM.
